Interesting theory... 
here's mine.

1. Everything Must Go is the worst Manic Street Preachers album period. It has no cohesion and sounds more like a roughly cobbled together collection of songs, some quite good, most less so...
2. Tsunami is one of the most hideous songs ever committed to record and its intro makes me physically wretch
3. The Everlasting is a genuinely affecting, emotional tune 
4. Nicky Wire has evolved into an incredibly clumsy lyricist who talks a good game whilst simultaneously delivering pseudo-intellectual, deliberately abstract, nonsensical diatribes about little of any discernable relevance that even the most adept songsmith couldn't make scan.... (but hey, he's got a 2:2 in Politics from Swansea uni and therefore if we don't get them apparently it's cos we aren't intelligent enough) 
5. The Holy Bible is, however, one of the best albums ever recorded
