embrace was an amazing ending, slow and sweet to calm the crowd down, had lads singing, groups hugging, and couples slow dancing. it went down really well.
i can't remember any of this.. i do however recall people going "what the fuck?", looking very pissed off and running off the dance floor in disgust!:P
yes but you like easyworld and hate the streets. you're opinion is not valid.
thats utter crap. you're not supposed to play what you want, you can do that at home on your stereo. you're the indie soc president you're supposed to be catering for all of our needs. [Edited on 10-12-2004 by Funky Fairy]
that coment is a little harsh. considering there are people (and actually quite a lot at that) made up of folk that i had not previously met that ask me why can't i dj all night, i would say i must be doing something right. i try and cater to the society, not to the forum. the forum is part of the society, not THE society. a huge amount of our tuesday crowd don't, for whatever reason, go on the forum.
its not particularily harsh. and at the end of the day the people that come to the indie nights and dont post on the forum just turn up pissed from the bar at 11.30 and dont have any knowledge of indie music at all, and want oasis and pulp that they can sing along to. which is fair enough. but you can also hear that stuff at cheesy choons and in the underground. surely out night are supposed to be specialised?
and its partly the specialisation that causes people to go to the bar. because pre-11pm we do play mixed, varied and specialised stuf, a lot of the more casual indie fans don't come down, or get their stamp and go elsewhere. their opinions on the indie they are like are no less valid than those that love the pre-11pm music and despise the popular stuff.
