The Procrastination thread
*I'm thinking about the future more and more and I really have to get it sorted out asap......
*I don't think my future is in Cowplain....
*this my last day at home for a while....not sure what to do really, may get the boys over for a beer tonight and watch the football
*I seem to be confused and not sure what to do with myself more and more these days - not a good thing
*yah the strokes are on TV! I love the fact that when you hear music sometimes it reminds you of people and places and perks you up!

This slacker postgrad is ahead of schedule thanking you muchly, despite having done next to nothing for the last three weeks or so. I'm just
gifted
Discussing what a phoneme was in the bar last night amused me greatly. Sad, me? Surely not.
Sam deserves the applause for correctly guessing Owen's accent. Well done that man

No-one gets it, thus the reason most people describe it as 'a sound'. As you might have guessed from my reaction, a phoneme is not a sound.
It has no reality beyond the psychological (and perhaps neurological, but we don't know that much yet). I would provide you with a better
definition, but I'll spare you the immense boredom

The irony of it is that most linguists are language snobs themselves... they just tell the rest of us not to be. They might just be a little detached
from reality too

I'm always quite pleased when all they do is laugh at me.
I've been very good and stayed away all morning and actually done some work in my non-contact time.
I've also got a year 7 class doing work on Shakespeare's As You Like It to write about The Redskins' "The Power Is Yours"
'Someone once wrote 'All the world's a stage,
It looks very different on my page
I know the script's fixed from the start
'Cause ordinary men and women only get supporting parts'.
Discuss.

“I feel that life is divided into the horrible and the miserable. That's the two categories. The horrible are like, I don't know, terminal
cases, you know, and blind people, crippled. I don't know how they get through life. It's amazing to me. And the miserable is everyone else.
So you should be thankful that you're miserable, because that's very lucky, to be miserable.”

Top tip - give them all a piece of A4 paper, get them to fold it in half twice, write their name on it and stand it up in front of them. They you can
pretend you know them all already instead of having to say things like 'Oi Ginger' or 'You there, with the leg.'

*Senses Fail are great.
*Essays are poo.
*Gavin is turning into Tatham, I swear. And has been telling him where I live! How worrying ;P.
*I really should do some work. The sun is lovely and bright outside though, makes me want to go do outsidey things like, er, I dunno, chop a tree
down or something.
