We don't care where they live, leave our forum alone!!!
Hello. This is my first thread, a scary moment
As students, we are legally obliged to watch the Simpsons as often as possible. So does anyone know which state Springfield is in? Annoying new
episodes make a big thing that if you follow the clues you can work it out. This is utter geekery but unleash your inner Prof. Frink and let's
have a crack at it.
EDIT:
Look, you fucking morons who keep finding this thread from google or wherever. When you couldn't find a reply button did you not consider that
the thread might be locked??!?!? Why then did you proceed to press the New Thread button? Stop creating new threads to give us your boring reasons why
the simpsons come from your favourite state. The sad thing is you even had to make the effort to create a profile before you could post! Are you
really that lonely? We don't give a shit! And if you do it again we'll break your fucking legs! Get it?

Isn't Springfield supposed to be a town in most states? And that's why they set the Simpsons there as it's so normal? Or am I being
blonde now?

i noticed once that you can figure it out. there's a town they refer to called ogdenville...in one episode lisa's band gets beaten by the
ogdenville band at the state fair because ogdenville cheat and use glowsticks - so springfield must be in the same state as ogdenville. in the
monorail one, the guy selling them the monorail shows them a map of other places they've built them and ogdenville is on the map. so you could
figure it out from that if you really wanted to.
i'll fuck off now.

In trying to answer this question I found out that radio stations starting with K are West of the Mississippi. If they start with a W they are East.
Springfield has KBBL (KBBL's gonna give me something stupid).
Hang on, KROC's in Florida isn't it? Surely that's East of the Mississippi. My interesting fact may be entirely wrong.

i thought that no one knew, including the creators and that was the point?! hence the jokes like al referred to, cos then it gets all us geeks who try
to figure it out...
Stephen Colbert on the impact of the Democrats' victory:
"Tomorrow you're all going to wake up in a brave new world: a world where the constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones, created
in a stem-cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags."

It was my lab Christmas party last night and my head is absolutely stinkin' today. I can't believe I drank the whole thing.
Simpsons definitely isn't as good as it used to be (the new Episodes on Sky like the one where they go to Brazil are really crap). Too many
celebrities, not enough jokes. Futurama was really good though, esspecially Bender for great lines like "Take that Beathoven, you deaf
bastard!" That's what cartoons were invented for.
There are a few states you can rule out. They went on holiday in Florida (Spring Break!) so they probably don't live there. I think it's at
the end of that episode they get banned from every state except two but one of those smells leaving only North Dakota (I think). Hmm...this is perhaps
not such a good idea as I thought it would be.

The Simpsons don't live in any state! They're a cartoon! And even if they were supposed to live in a particular state, they
wouldn't! Because they're a cartoon!

I just think it's funny because if the writers had made it possible to determine which state it was set in then someone, somewhere would have
worked it out by now (there are much sadder people than us on the net, believe me!) - and it would have spread around the net, and we wouldn't be
arguing about it now...
