IndieSoc Last FM Weekly Charts
Note that where it says the number of plays it means the number of people who have listened to the band or song in the last week.

oh. it hasn't updated on here yet, but this weeks chart is pretty good. no radiohead for a start! the song chart is interesting too, with a high
entry for Find The River by REM for no apparent reason.

I haven't had anything in the top 10 for weeks. I don't think I listened to the Kinks this week, which means as far as I can see I only have
The Fall, Tom Waits, The Sonics and Tav Falco's Panther Burns on there, with one other listen each. And I'm not even sure if I did listen to
The Fall either, come to think of it.
Who else listened to Tav Falco? And why is only one other person listening to Tom Waits?

The sonics are further down the charts with two listens. They're not on your full weekly chart (which I just realised actually shows every single
track someone's listened to in a particular week - pretty neat), so I guess your mp3 might have been badly tagged or you didn't listen to
them on your computer or something.

Awesome! Not quite world domination yet but it's a good start. Actually it probably says more about the indiesoc being a good group of beta
testers/generous first time listeners. Thanks for your support guys!

Ooh I do love the Fall's version of Victoria, which is an amazing song anyway. That song always brings the patriotism out of me.

The other listen of that was me, first one I've got on the top 10 tracks. It is some good stuff.
If anyone's wondering why I've been listening to so much Black Lips it's because they're that fucking good. I saw them live the
other week and they were amazing, along with Swedish electro-punkers Quit Your Dayjob. Got to be the best Dirty Water Club night I've been to.
Apparently they've just signed to Vice Records, alongside Bloc Party and The Streets. With most other garage bands I'd be upset at this, but
I really cannot see the Black Lips ever losing their edge, they are simply too damn punk. I'm sure they'd sooner get themselves kicked off
the label than get pushed around.

nice little chart this week i think. the thirteenth floor elevators are surprisingly high up.
i'm really enjoying this last fm malarky. i wish they had a 'last week's position in brackets' type thing though so i could
pretent to be mark goodier and do little chart rundowns. not literally of course.
my only other gripe is the man who runs the garage rock group won't let me join.

there is that. the chart isn't particularly cohesive at the moment. maybe when jazzy gay sorts his internet out at home he'll start to make
a contribution.

I just realised you said garage rock and not garage punk. Well that's a bit cuntish of him considering their charts are boring anyway. I think I
was in it but I quit because the charts went crap. It's probably why they turned approval on in the first place, I think it was open before.
It's a bit late now though.
Anyway the garage punk group is much better. Still: listen to the Oblivians and the Black Lips first.
Also: you have Kieron Gillen (BremXJones) on your neighbours list. Well done, I think.

ah yes. i see what you mean about the 'i think' part. still, that's possibly quite cool.
the thing about neighbours though is i don't actually think their musical tastes are that great. they normally have one band who i can't
stand quite high up (usually the libertines), and i always kind of think the people with loads of hip bands that i don't actually listen to that
much, but like a lot would be better neighbours. i think last fm is slowing showing me that the music i listen to isn't quite as diverse as i
thought.
