since i moved house i haven't actually listened to any CDs. this is fairly depressing as i own quite a lot. i've just listened to stuff
through my ipod (via the stereo) and put on a couple of LPs when i'm feeling less technologically inclined. in fact my cd player isn't even
attached to my stereo at the moment.
and on the subject of last.fm. i'm perversely hoping that robbie williams makes a relatively high appearance in next week's indiesoc chart
thanks to the soulwax ravelight dub.

chart analysis
the klaxons have fallen out of favour this week, and whilst the forthcoming long blondes and shins albums seem to be getting some notable action the
jarvis album is conspicuous by its absence.

i was going to post this week's chart but it didn't seem very interesting....
i'm enjoying the new musical compatibility feature on there though, and also the fact that the overall charts are getting updated more
frequently!

actually, i will point out that the long blondes and shins have disappearred from the top end of the charts. i have to say the long blondes album
hasn't particularly stuck with me.

the musical compatibility feature is great. i thought it was new, although it had crossed my mind that i may have just been ignorant of it for all
this time!

It seems you're my most compatible friend! Perhaps that's just because you have such a large music collection?

maybe. the musical compatibility thing doesn't seem to really reflect the judgements i'd make in real life though.
having said that, i have 'super' compatibility with julien and mirella, who both have excellent music taste.
it also says i have 'very low' compatibility with dr rob however, who i also think has great taste.

It seems pretty strict in terms of how close the bands you listen to have to match. Even on my own neighbours list there's only one
'super.'
Then again, it only listed The Saints for me on your one, and I know you listen to quite a few more of the same bands as me than that.

It seems to have fixed itself a bit, at least in terms of the bands it lists. Also my neighbours list just updated for the first time in ages.

it's all about this week's top tracks on the indiesoc chart:
1 Ricardo Villalobos â?? Fizheuer Zieheuer 3
1 Neutral Milk Hotel â?? Holland, 1945 3
1 Bright Eyes â?? Road to Joy 3
1 The Futureheads â?? Carnival Kids 3
1 Howling Bells â?? Low Happening 3
1 Skream â?? Midnight Request Line 3
1 The Fratellis â?? Chelsea Dagger 3
I like to pretend the fratellis aren't there.

I dont like how all my neighbours seem to be mentalist libertines/babyshambles/pete doherty fanatics, i cant remember the last time i listened to a
song by any of these and i cant envisage a time int he future when i will. surely im not listening to everything my neighbours listen to apart from
the libs/shmbles/doherty.
look at my chart and tell me please

i have exactly the same problem. also it keeps recommending the libertines to me in my recommended artist list.
it's worrying indeed.
