Fuck yeah.

I would like to see the skyline and city lights of New York or Tokyo and then come back to the green fields we know and do nothing, and sleep, and do that again and again...

what do people make of this?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7023193.stm

like the idea of only captains being able to talk to the referees. works well in rugby and footballers should respect the person running the game much more than they do at the moment.

For once I completely agree with what the FA are doing. Like you say, it works well in rugby and if it works we might even be able to have the refs mic'd up. I can't stand it when players swarm the referee... I know most teams do it (Arsenal under Adams and Vieira), Man Utd are notorious for it and Chelsea too. Progress I feel.

It will be interesting to see how the goal line technology will develop.

I like the idea - in principle and within reason.

However (I listened to this debate on 606 last night and agreed with this).... stop using rugby as a comparision - players are much closer and there are more breaks in the game for the captain to get involved....

Take for example, your captain is a defender (or even the goal keeper), and an incident takes place at the other end of the pitch, and if it needs the captain to deal with it - are they really expected just to run up the pitch to chat to the ref for a couple of seconds... think not!!

But something does need to be done about players crowding the ref.

That was a terrible game. I can't stand watching Liverpool so I turned it over to the Real Madrid game at half time.

Gerrard has been absolute dogshit and Arsenal have twice missed open goals in this game, the worst was Bendtner's. Arsenal have been the better side by a long way though, and deserve at least a point.

What's more annoying is that Bendtner had time to take a touch - but I'll play the youth and lack of experience card with him

Good game - we should have nicked the winner, but a point at Anfield is always good!

Next saturday (man u) should be a cracker - I'm predicting 2-2 - can't see anything else than a draw.

That was a tad disappointing in the end, but I would have taken a draw at the start so can't complain too much, but it always leaves a bitter taste conceding late and especially to Arsenal when you're 3 mins away from winning the game. Such a shitty sloppy goal to concede though...

Fair result - and I also would have taken a draw before that (in fact, I said 2 points from liverpool + man u, and I'm more than happy).

Our goals were slopppy (could see them coming a mile off) + taking Eboue off was a mistake.

Still, good game, happy with the result.

Indeed, thought that both sides had their good parts of the game and poor parts...both sides stifled each other pretty well despite the 4 goals and Arsenal closed down well early in the second half. Disappointed at Anderson (as do most Man U fans seem to be) with his overexaggeration and card waving but you could see that VDS came out about 40 yards from his box to tell him to calm down and I'm sure Ferguson will have a word too. He'll probably get a lot more criticism from it than Terry did when he actually nearly took the red card from the ref's hand earlier in the season!

I think anyone out of the current top5 could win it

Saying that - i haven't used my wild card.... yet !! So I've got some breathing space if my team losses form / injured /etc

What a disappointing weekend that was for Arsenal... at least my fantasy team did well. Did you see the game Dunnerz?

I think we'll have to not lose at Old Trafford if we're going to win the league. Liverpool have got to be out of the title race now.
